I don't know if it will work for aubs but I have to leave my meetings and sit in the dark mothers room for a power nap. It's short but better than nothing. Plus I enjoy the snuggle. Make sure to have the blanky or animal that signals bedtime
Hi! We've done 1:00 since August, and (nap-wise) it stinks! Hehe. (At least we're not slogging uphill for 5 miles on foot just to get to church...I guess our sacrifice is not too bad :)
We tried sneaking in an early nap--no good. We tried cajoling her into a late nap--no good. Nap during sacrament?--no good.
What HAS worked for us? We just tough it out, and have "quiet family time" for the rest of Sunday evening, watching movies and not expecting Avery to do big things like dinners with friends or anything. Believe it or not, she has gotten used to it and has done better than expected. I think it is like manna... The Israelites weren't allowed to collect extra on any day except in preparation for the Sabbath. For that one day, the exception seemed to work. We do include it in our family prayers that day. And bring lots of fruit snacks :)
We had 12pm church last year too and I have to agree with Jess - it works out. It's a hard time with nursery kids, but I think it's better not to force an early or late nap. Maybe a slightly earlier bedtime. Good luck!
