Lewis fish. What can I say at your passing? Simply put, I didn't think I would miss you when you inevitably died, but I do.
I was surprised when, after buying you as a Christmas gift for Aubrey, you survived the three days we were stuck in Pocatello. How did you survive without food for three days? I thought for sure you were a goner.
I liked how you used to pick up the little rocks in your bowl with your mouth and build yourself little fortresses against the sides of your glass bowl. I miss the little "plink" sounds it made throughout the day.
I thought it impressive how you allowed Moxy to drink your bowl water and still swam right up to the surface bravely.
I remember how you would trustfully and willingly swim into my net when I would remove you from your bowl so I could clean it. It was as if you were saying, "Ah, thank you. Let me show you my appreciation by cooperating with you and your net." And I remember how, after placing you into your freshly cleaned bowl with new water, you would "cough" your gills a couple times to clear them out, as if you were saying "ahem."
I miss watching how happy you were to just swim in circles all day long. I wondered what it would be like to have such a simply pleasurable existence.
You were a trooper. Thanks for being our fish.

Oh, Lewis fish! How sad! I'm missing him all the way from Texas. I like how we found him a coral and them hacked all the branches off with a kitchen knife, and then he outgrew it anyway :) Good fish. How did Aubrey take it?
Nice memoire. I feel like we knew him. Sorry sis. Bye Lewis.
The truth is out, and this post proves it. Not only are the smartest one in the family, but now I can also see that you are the funniest too. I about peed my pants when I read this. Thanks for the laugh.
Loved this post. Loved it.
