Over Valentine's Day weekend, the husband and I went to Boise sans Miss Alpha to have a little getaway. We ate out lasciviously, attended an amazing ballet, watched pairs ice skate on TV, and lounged many times in the hot tub.
During our last evening in Boise, I could not sleep well. I was constantly waking due to cramps. A few days previous, however, was the blessed scheduled "first day of missed period." Since trying to conceive for more than two years, this date has been marked on my calendar, indicating to me that it was time to take a pregnancy test. I had put this one off for a bit because it was usually a little bit of a downer. I did not want any subtle moping on my part on our trip.
In the past they were all big fat negatives. But not this time.
Imagine my surprise when the plus sign showed up. Let me tell you, I have seen a good number of negative tests in my day, so it was quite shocking to see such a brazen "Positive!" exclaiming from the little stick. It was so clear and bright. I didn't need to squint.
The husband was down the street preparing for an early videophone interview for a position in Milwaukee; since it was unthinkably early, I was leisurely getting ready. I thought about calling him to tell him the news, however I thought this could quite possibly explode his brain right before the interview. So I waited. I finished getting ready, packed up our things, and loaded the car. When I picked him up downstairs and he took over at the wheel, I told him straight out.

YEAH!! (And you don't care if I scatter comments on all your posts?) I remember you telling me how often you had "looked for a positive in a negative," meaning the actual test stick, but that thought had a lot of additional meaning. You've done some faithful waiting, though it has been hard. Love you :)
