On Saturday, we attended an Easter egg hunt at the Cassia Regional hospital. The eggs were smattered around the expansive lawn, sections of which were roped off in giant squares according to age groups. Children were lined up around the edges waiting for the hunt. Upon finding the 0-to-2-year-old square, we found it did not have any eggs strewn about. Apparently the Easter Bunny and his helpers would give the eggs personally to these little folk. Wanting Aubrey to have a "hunt" experience (and, quite frankly, afraid she would not accept any eggs from a giant bunny), we waited at edge of the 3-to-4-year-old area for the starting alarm to sound.

The Easter Bunny and his friends (a duck, a bear, and a dalmation) arrived via fire truck five minutes to kickoff. They shook hands with the children and made their way to the 0-to-2-year-old section. The dalmation came up to Aubrey and shook her hand. She was fascinated by the "Easter Doggy" (seen below wearing what seems to be a Cougars jersey).
When the fire truck sounded its alarm, the hunt was on. Richard ran Aubrey into the center of the square (as was his plan for ensuring Aubrey got some eggs among the older children). Alas, when Aubrey heard the alarm and Richard scooped her up hurridly, she assumed something was wrong and Daddy was whisking her to safety. When he set her down to gather eggs (and picked up a few for her), she continued to run straight through the eggs to the far end of the field.
Upon arriving home, we found that the Easter Bunny had visited and brought Aubrey a bike. She said, "I'm so excited!" and hopped on. She attempted to ride it in the house a bit with my help. Then Richard took her outside for some daddy-daughter bike riding time. So cute.

End note: Thanks to the Easter Bunny's friend the dalmation, Aubrey now thinks an Easter Doggy brought her a bike and candy.

Sweet, the Easter Doggy! We love you, Aubrey! Thanks Holls. (Avery doesn't quite get "the hunt" yet, either, as she just picks up one egg and clutches it to her, not feeling the need to find more, or points to eggs on the ground and says, "dirty!" Hmmmm :)
Easter was sooo fun! Love ya all a bunch.
