Groundhog Day

A snow day is awesome in-and-of-itself.
It is made even more so when your husband cannot go to work
due to three+ foot drifts blocking his vehicle, backed up for a good 30 square yards.
Then, add the delight of said husband
shoveling the family (and the neighbors) out of the house.
And, finally, top it off with daddy-daughter sledding
down the hill in the side yard on a plastic storage tote lid.
I, for one, cannnot contain the awesomeness.

It took quite some time to shovel us out.
Mary, our neighbor to the right, opened her door as Richard began the digging,
and she exclaimed, "Oh, my!"
Richard gallantly said, "I'll get you out, Mary. Don't worry."
Then Aubrey threw provisions of cheerios through the open slit of her front door.
That's us--the Keddingtons, always helping out.

This is a view from our kitchen balcony, taken yesterday.
Note the PT Cruiser by the mailboxes almost completely entrenched.
RIP, PT. See you again in April.
