(Aubrey quietly enters our bedroom and approaches Richard's side of the bed. Note: The benefit of leaving home for multiple few-day stretches in the last month is that Aubrey has designated Richard as Parent Number One at morning time. Sweet.)
Aubrey: Daddy, you're really smart.
Richard: Yeah?
Aubrey: Yes, and I'm really smart, too.
Richard: What about Mommy?
Aubrey: No, she's just awesome.
